Autism Acceptance Month: More Than Awareness

Autism Acceptance Month: More Than Awareness—A Movement of Inclusion

April is Autism Acceptance Month—a time not just to recognize autism, but to truly embrace, support, and uplift individuals on the spectrum and their families.

At Heart of Autism Inc., we believe acceptance goes beyond words. It means creating real opportunities, building supportive communities, and ensuring every autistic child has access to the resources they need to thrive.

This month, we stand with every parent navigating the journey, every child discovering their voice, and every family building strength through love and resilience.

👉 You are seen
👉 You are valued
👉 You are not alone

We are committed to building a village where inclusion is intentional, support is accessible, and every child’s potential is recognized and nurtured.

Let April be a reminder that together, we can create a world where differences are not just accepted—but celebrated.

This month, we celebrate YOU!

Heart of Autism Inc. Engages City of Holly Hill for Community Partnership

On March 10, 2026, Dr. Canute White, Founder and President of Heart of Autism Inc., was invited to present at Holly Hill City Hall. During this engagement, the organization was formally introduced to city officials and members of the Holly Hill community.

We commend the leadership of the City of Holly Hill for their openness and willingness to engage in meaningful dialogue around supporting autistic children and their families. Their commitment to exploring inclusive, community-based solutions reflects a vision for a stronger, more supportive city.

This presentation marked more than an introduction—it was the beginning of a collaborative journey. A follow-up meeting with Joseph Forte is anticipated, where discussions will focus on establishing a strategic partnership.

Through this partnership, Heart of Autism Inc. aims to develop accessible programs, secure community space, and expand support systems that will directly benefit families across the region.

Next Steps: Building a Partnership with the City of Holly Hill

Following our initial presentation, Heart of Autism Inc. is preparing for a follow-up meeting with the City of Holly Hill to explore formal partnership opportunities.

The focus of this collaboration will include securing multi-purpose space for programming, expanding access to essential services, and building sustainable initiatives that support autistic children and their families.

We are optimistic about the future and the potential for Holly Hill to become a model city for inclusive and supportive programming in Volusia County.

Teaching Autistic Children to Swim Saves Lives

WE ADVOCATE AND ASKING YOU TO PARTNER WITH US

At Heart of Autism Inc., we continue to advocate for initiatives that protect, empower, and support autistic children and their families across Florida. One of our most urgent and life-saving priorities is water safety.

Autistic children are at a significantly higher risk of wandering or elopement, and tragically, many water-related incidents occur within minutes. This makes swimming not just a recreational activity—but a critical safety skill.

We believe every autistic child deserves access to safe, adaptive, and sensory-aware swim instruction tailored to their unique needs. Learning to swim can:

  • Reduce the risk of drowning
  • Build confidence and independence
  • Support sensory regulation
  • Provide a healthy and enjoyable activity

This initiative aligns with our mission to support the biological, social, and economic well-being of autistic children and their families while promoting awareness, inclusion, and access to essential services.

We are actively exploring partnerships with:

  • Local swim schools
  • Community centers
  • City programs
  • Certified adaptive instructors

Our goal is to expand access to inclusive swim programs throughout Holly Hill, Daytona, Ormond Beach, and surrounding communities.

💙 How You Can Support

  • Partner with us to offer swim programs
  • Volunteer or sponsor a child’s lessons
  • Share this message to raise awareness

Together, we can prevent tragedy and create safer environments for our children.

Because safety is not optional—it is essential.

THE BRILLIANT SIDE OF AUTISM

🌟 Breaking Barriers. Redefining Possibilities. 🌟

Meet Haley Moss — Florida’s first openly autistic attorney, and a powerful example of what inclusion, support, and belief can achieve. 💙

Her journey is more than personal success—it is a message to every autistic child, every parent, and every community:

👉 Autism is not a limitation
👉 Neurodiversity is strength
👉 Opportunity changes outcomes

At Heart of Autism Inc., this is exactly what we stand for. We are committed to creating pathways where autistic children are not just supported—but empowered to thrive, lead, and redefine the world around them.

Haley Moss represents what is possible when we move beyond awareness and into acceptance, access, and action.
